Metabolism, Oxidative Stress and Alzheimer’s Disease
Gary Gibson, PhD, was an invited speaker at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference in London. This is a once a year meeting that includes the world’s leaders in research and clinical trials in Alzheimer’s disease. He was invited to give one talk on “Metabolism, Oxidative Stress and Alzheimer’s Disease” that presents an alternative hypothesis to the dogma on the causes of AD. This suggests that the majority of therapeutic trials may be off target. He was also invited to give a talk on “Glucose Metabolism as a Therapeutic Target in Alzheimer’s disease”. He presented a poster with the same title. The latter two presented a clinical trial that reflects a combined effort of the Burke Medical Research Institute and the Burke Rehabilitation Hospital.
