The Center for Vision Repair at the Burke Neurological Institute constitutes a collection of world-class vision research laboratories, a vision assessment core, a collaborative/contract research facility, a device development division, and a community outreach program. Research at the Center seeks to understand the mechanics of vision, to determine the cause of visual diseases, and to use the information to design procedures that will prevent and treat visual impairment. The intersection of laboratory research and patient studies creates a comprehensive research center that builds hope for vision restoration through great science. In its short history, the Center for Vision Repair has established a strong track record of identifying promising visual therapies, and in translating them into human application.
