Stealth Biotherapeutics, Inc, Boston, MAWe have had success in reducing visual impairment in rodent models of aging and retinal disease, by targeting and improving mitochondrial function with a drug called Elamipretide. The results have already stimulated successful human clinical trials for visual indications, and the approach holds promise to extend the visual healthspan as we age.
