James B. Rafferty

Mr. Rafferty has over 40 years of corporate finance experience where he was responsible for developing and implementing strategies and controls related to corporate treasury and governance including cash management, bond issuances, lease financing, retirement plans and all areas of insurance and enterprise risk management.

He served as Treasurer and Chief Compliance Officer for AEP Industries, a publicly listed company, as well as finance positions with multinational corporations, such as Borden Inc., and Continental Grain Company. Mr. Rafferty began his career with Coopers & Lybrand, CPAs in public accounting.

More recently, he served over ten years on the Board of Governors, and as well as President of the New York Athletic Club, a 150 year-old social, athletic and Olympic training institution, with knowledge of NY State not-for-profit entity laws, regulatory requirements and best practices.    

Mr. Rafferty holds a B.S. degree in Economics from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. degree from the University of Oregon.

He is excited to use his experience to support Burke Neurological Institute Board of Directors and its mission statement.
