Heather Pepper Lane, M.A., OTR/L
Biography
Heather Pepper Lane is an Occupational Therapist with over a decade of experience at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, specializing in stroke, other neurological conditions and orthopedics. Heather also has extensive experience working with cardiac, pulmonary, burn, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury populations. Heather has worked in various settings including acute care, in-patient acute rehabilitation, out-patient rehabilitation, sub-acute rehabilitation, and long-term care.
Heather is certified in the Upper Extremity Fugl-Meyer Motor & Sensory Assessment, the Chedoke-McMaster Stroke Assessment, the Modified Ashworth Scale, the Action Reach Arm Test, the WOLF Motor Function Test and the NIH Stroke Scale.
While at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, Heather has been involved in research studies with NYU Occupational Therapy students, Columbia University Occupational Therapy students and with the CPM study .
As the advanced clinician at the Restorative Neurology Clinic at Burke Medical Research Institute, Heather is trained and trains other medical professionals in recruitment, evaluation, and treatment of neurological patients.
Heather is also the student coordinator for the Edwards’ Motor Control and Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation Laboratory.
Research Interest
Heather’s research interest is exploring the use of cutting edge technology to aid in the recovery of motor function post neurological injury, particularly in the stroke population.
