Biography
I contribute to the research in Carmel Lab by analyzing the effects of paired stimulation in rodents with spinal cord injury. It is part of a bottom-up strategy to test the paired stimulation paradigm in rats (Carmel Lab), cats (Martin Lab and Bikson Lab, CCNY) and subsequently human beings (Harel Lab, Mt.Sinai). I also maintain and succor the Dexterity tool to evaluate automated manipulation tasks for rodent.
My previous assignment at New York University involved infectious disease research. I was involved in: a longitudinal study of cytokine levels in HIV infected patients before & after HAART treatment; development of a signature inflammatory panel for schistosomiasis; and testing immunological interactions of Zika peptides. My undergraduate project at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay dealt with systems biology to understand bacterial chemotaxis. I believe my miniscule contributions to science will aid the development of holistic healthcare.
