Dr. Rajiv Ratan Presents at Iona University on Ferroptosis and Stroke Treatment

Rajiv R. Ratan, M.D., Ph.D., CEO of Burke Neurological Institute, delivered a guest lecture at Iona University on March 14, 2025, in New Rochelle, NY.

His talk, “Iron and the Lipid-Mediated Cell Death Pathway to Ferroptotic Death: Implications for Stroke Treatment,” explored the role of iron and lipid peroxidation in stroke-related neurodegeneration.

The presentation was part of a broader science initiative led by Sunghee Lee, Ph.D., Board of Trustees Endowed Professor in the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Iona University. The program, Project Symphony, highlights the intersection of scientific discovery and creative collaboration.
