Myomo®, Inc. is a medical technology company leading the way in extending myoelectric prosthetic technology to powered orthoses that restore an individual's mobility. The company's mission is to improve mobility and restore independence for individuals suffering from a paralyzed arm due to Brachial plexus injury, Stroke and other neuro-muscular conditions. The Company manufactures and sells the MyoPro® myoelectric upper extremity orthosis.

The MyoPro is designed to enable individuals to self-initiate and control movement of a partially paralyzed arm using their own muscle signals. Similar to a myoelectric controlled prosthetic, the orthosis uses simple surface EMG sensing technology. When signal is detected, the motor is actuated to move the arm in the desired direction. The user is completely controlling his own arm; the brace assists with movement once a weak signal is detected. With the orthosis, a paralyzed individual can perform activities of daily living including feeding, reaching, and lifting.

The MyoPro technology was invented by researchers at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has been in use at clinics as a therapy device since FDA approval in 2007. Since 2010, the technology has been used in the home to assist in improving upper limb function.
