Leveraging skills and critical thinking developed in the laboratory for personal and career fulfillment

EVENT:
Seminar
Who Should Attend:
Researchers

Abstract

Scientists spend so much time in the lab that it often becomes a major portion of their identity – a badge they proudly wear built on the hard work committed to improve lives through discovery. Unfortunately, when it is time to transition out of the lab, scientists can feel lost trying to adapt in a new job or career, while maintaining their sense of identity. What else is out there that could possibly bring the same fulfillment as science? In this seminar, parallels between the science and non-profit sectors will be discussed as well as finding a fulfilling career outside the lab through a non-linear career path.
