Burke Neurological Institute’s core endeavor is to advancement discoveries, treatments and pioneering novel therapeutic approaches for disabilities associated with neurological diseases and injuries. Stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury and Alzheimer's disease are among the main neurological diseases and injuries investigated at Burke.

Devoted to Rehabilitation Research

Research scientists and clinicians at Burke are devoted to improving the restoration of the body’s most cherished functions—vision, movement, thinking—and one of its most abhorred but necessary functions, pain. Rehabilitation research focuses on reducing acute and chronic disabilities includes a host of impairments ranging from paralysis, sensory loss, language function, dementia, to pain, cognitive, motor and vision recovery.

Discovering Tomorrow's Strategies, Treatments and Cures

Each individual’s journey to recovery wither it’s relearning to walk, talk, eat, see or learning to use a wheel-chair, prosthetic or new joint is a courageous journey. Research scientists at Burke work tirelessly and are intensively driven to find novel discovers for tomorrow’s strategies, treatments and cures to help improve the quality of life and well-being of those affected by a disabling disease or injury.

Giving Back to Burke's Surrounding Community and Beyond

To express our gratitude for your support and generosity Burke Neurological Institute gives back to the surrounding community Burke serves. Educational forums, symposia and small patient focus groups are planned throughout the year. Public education about the risks of stroke, spinal cord injury and other neurological diseases and how to avoid these risks is made available. The latest research endeavors at Burke that directly impact improvements to reduce disabilities and proven therapeutic approaches to enhance rehabilitation in neurological diseases are shared with Burke’s surrounding community and beyond.
