This resource page provides current and prospective researchers with the tools they will need to conduct ethical research that is in compliance with the Office for Human Research Protections (OHRP) in accordance with the Office for Human and Health Service regulations.

The Office for Human Research Protections

  • OHRP has published a variety of policy and regulatory guidance materials to assist the research community in conducting ethical research that is in compliance with the HHS regulations. These include guidance documents and frequently asked questions (FAQs) addressing various topics, findings in the form of OHRP letters addressing regulatory issues, and other media including decision tree graphics and educational videos.

CITI Program Training

  • Human Subjects Research is intended for anyone involved in research studies with human subjects, or who have responsibilities for setting policies and procedures with respect to such research, including Institutional Review Boards (IRBs).”
  • A completed certificate in Biomedical (Biomed) basic or Social-Behavioral-Educational (SBE) basic is a mandatory requirement before conducting research.
